Triangle Learning Center, PLLC provides evaluations for preschoolers, school-aged children, adolescents and young adults whose families are concerned about their learning. The specific components of any evaluation are selected to address the family’s concerns while eliciting the individual’s best skills. Evaluations may include reviewing previous records, collecting information from family members, teachers or other professionals, direct observation of the individual in our office, their home or a community setting, and/or psychological testing. The most common types of psychological tests are cognitive (IQ), achievement (academic performance), and behavioral (for assessment of all types of behavior, including social and communication skills). Families will receive a written report of the evaluation results, along with recommendations for how to use these results to benefit their child.
TLC also provides a variety of intervention services for families of children with learning challenges. These include parent consultation, parent education sessions, family therapy, goal-directed child therapy, social skills training and long-term, supportive counseling. As in our evaluations, we match the specific treatment approach to the family’s strengths and needs. Above all, we provide treatment that values differences, develops strengths and supports families – consistent with our core values.
